B.O.L.T.S. (Building Our Leaders Through Science)

BOLTS is an innovative after-school STEM-based program where students will become great leaders while working as a team, all by participating in extreme science experiments, fun outdoor activities, constructing marshmallow launchers and engineering rockets. The final week will consist of building and be launching a rocket into the atmosphere.

Some example activities include:  elephant toothpaste, egg drop, coding, foam rockets, marshmallow launcher, slime, anti-gravity devices, water bottle rockets, the chemistry of ice cream, red solo cup challenge, paper cup launchers, lava lamps, plus lots more!

2018 Summer B.O.L.T.S. Locations:

Chandler Unified School District

Each week will consist of a different theme. Each week’s theme will consist of projects that match the theme.

Some activities will be repeated each week such as marshmallow launchers, slime and foam rockets. Every day students will take a project home

Each week runs Monday-Friday, 8:30am-11:00am.

Cost: $140 per student/week

Conley Elementary

June 4-8, 2018  Rocket Theme:

We will be focusing on everything rockets. Projects will consist of building three rockets, one of which will be launched about 500ft up into the sky. The other projects will focus on space, chemical reactions, and launches.

June 11-15, 2018  Sticky Theme:

We will be focusing on everything slimy, sticky, ooey and gooey. There will be a different type of slime made every day, other gooey projects and food chemistry (please list any allergies when registering).

June 18-22, 2018  Volcano Theme:

We will be focusing on projects that explode! Different projects will focus on chemical reactions and engineering. We will build an exploding volcano to take home at the end.
